 "Noelle"
is seeking a VERY SPECIAL HOME

Christmas has come early to White Dog Cottage. Noelle arrived quite unexpectedly when a compassionate veterinarian called and asked us to take this adorable girl into rescue. Noelle's owners wanted this darling 9 yr old put down because she was "a burden".  Noelle was sick when she arrived at the vet, but is having her health care needs addressed now. She will need daily eye drops and careful feeding.
Are YOU the very special person or persons who will love treat her with the adoration and health care needs she so richly deserves? Inquire
Potential adopters must live with 100 miles of Norfolk, VA
- sorry, 2 precious 2 ship.

INQUIRE >>

Snowball
(a/k/a "Snowy")

As with most bichon frise dogs, Snowy is a wonderful companion doggie for the person/family that has the time to devote to him. Snowy is now interviewing prospective families. No shipping and no small children.  He's too precious. Snowy is being fostered in the Houston, TX area and placement will be made in that region so his foster mommy can do a homecheck and responsible follow-ups after adoption.

If interested in knowing more, please visit the rescue website (http://www.bichonrescue.org) to view the adoption application and read our "best practices". If after you have read all that, you still want to be "owned by a bichon", print out the application, fill it out, and mail it to:

"JOEY"/Virginia
Empty arms, empty heart?
Are you up for a compassionate challenge?

VIRGINIA/USA:   Joey is an extremely cute 4 year old male who has been kept in a garage for 4 years. He is very timid and shy and when he came to rescue he was afraid of most everything, but especially men. His former owner left him alone for 13 to 14 hours a day and gave him up because he wasn't housetrained!

Joey says: "I will need a quiet adult household with loving and patient people.  I'm still afraid of men, and I need a kind lady to adopt me. I love to walk on a leash and ride in the car. I also love tummy rubs and stuffed toys. I'm afraid of other dogs and jealous, too as I have not had all the attention and cuddling that a Bichon requires. I cannot live in a home with other dogs ( or cats).

I'm trying to learn this housetraining stuff and I am doing pretty well but will  continue to need reminders from my mom.   I'm a loving little guy and I love to be held and cuddled. I need my "mom" to be home the majority of the day so I won't be scared and lonely."

This little fellow has been the victim of gross neglect. He will need a mama who is willing to open her heart and home to a dog that needs a second chance at a happy life. Joey will require love, time and attention to help him become a wonderful lifetime companion.

Potential adopters must live with 100 miles of Norfolk, VA and must submit a written application (see below). We do not ship dogs.   INQUIRE

"Lucy"/ New York City

Lucy is a beautiful, mature, well-seasoned, 8-10 year old,
who was found as a stray. She's a little chubby now but will soon weight
14-16 lbs. We are working on it.

Lucy walks a little funny, so maybe she has touch of arthritis (but hey, so do I!)
However.... when she wants to move, boy does she move,
especially when food's involved.

What a fabulous dog. She deserves a fabulous home

We have an update on this precious girl

NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP ....
Now I lay me down to sleep,
The kind sized bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove,
My human beings can hardly move.
I've trapped their legs, they're tucked in tight,
And here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs me or dares intrude,
Till morning comes and "I want food!"
I sneak up slowly to begin,
And nibble on my human's chin.
For the morning's here, it's time to play...
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me,
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs me and holds me tight,
And shares their bed with me at night.
