CANINE BELLYBANDS
& PANTIES
do not prevent a dog from urinating, but can prevent
urine stains/odor from ruining carpets, floors & furniture.

"Tiger" models handsome bellyband
recently made by 'Sew-n-Fancy'.

A bellyband for a male dog is simply single or double thickness of fabric with (preferably) a wide strip of velcro closure (see below).  Bellybands can be partially lined with plastic in the penis area to prevent seepage.

IMPORTANT!!
Bellybands & pads must be used sparingly as continual use will cause moisture/bacteria to collect around penis area and cause infection.

Also bellybands and pads must be kept VERY clean and changed often
in order to avoid infection.

Sanitary pads can be cut into segments and placed in the area of the bellyband where the urine would be distributed.  Knowing your dog will give you a better idea of how large a piece of pad you will need.

Note the wide & long strip of velcro makes bellybands more adjustable to fit a wider variety of tummies.

These bellybands belong to Bichon Rescue and have been used in housetraining for years.

Female dogs can also wear little 'panties' during heat cycles, housetraining, or in the case of female markers.

A small piece of sanitary pad fits right into the vagina area of the panties to catch any urine deposits.

These panties close with velcro on both sides for easy use.

Please note:  Neither bellybands nor panties prevent an animal from voiding*.  The purpose of the bellyband and panties is to prevent urine from getting on your carpet, floors or furniture.

*It is reported that
some dogs do seem to dislike the sensation of being wet after voiding into the sanitary pad, and will begin to resist voiding when in a bellyband.
